CREW BIOS

Sean Ferry -
(Producer/Director) is an award winning video director and producer in the Bay Area. His documentary Sanpachando, about the African diaspora in Chocó Colombia, won "Best Documentary" in the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase 2007. He has worked for several years in corporate video, and is currently head of the production group Four Ones Media. He has a BA in communications from the University of Wisconsin and a post-graduate degree in Urban Journalism, from La Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, Medellín Colombia. He is an avid videographer, photographer and musician. He is also a member of the San Francisco Kendo Dojo. He holds the rank of san-dan, (3rd degree).

Rory Nakata -
(Artistic Director) is an accomplished sculptor and Professor of Arts at the College of San Mateo. For the past 35 years, he has received numerous grants and awards for the artwork he creates and has been featured in programs by CNN and PBS. Among other affiliations, he is the Artistic Director for the Institute for Design and Experimental Art. Professor Nakata is also an instructor at the San Francisco Kendo Dojo and holds the rank of yon-dan, (4th degree).

Dianne Fukami -
(Advisor) has been nominated for a National Emmy and was awarded the Northern California Emmy for Best Documentary. Her broadcasting projects include: producing a 20-episode series for Discovery Channel's FitTV network, three documentaries for PBS station KCSM on the Japanese American experience; writing and producing a half-hour special on women entrepreneurs for KPIX-TV; an hour-long award-winning documentary on the Chinese Exclusion Act. Currently, Fukami is head of Bridge Media Inc. and serves as Board Chair for Asian Community Mental Health Services in the East Bay as well as a Board member of the Japanese Community and Cultural Center of Northern California.
